Before founding  Maven, an online medical clinic for women, in 2014, London-based expat Katherine Ryder covered digital health investments and tech for a venture capital firm. Shortly after her move across the pond while working at a venture capital firm, Ryder had the idea for Maven when she saw how badly women needed access to good healthcare. The company, which is set up as a system that directly connects patients and doctors, earned $2.2 million in funding in 2015 (and will likely continue to grow as women’s healthcare in America is threatened).
