Here’s a great tale: John Oliver spoofed a children’s book Mike Pence wrote about his “objectively well-named” bunny Marlon Bundo, and ended up outselling Pence and ultimately topping Amazon’s books bestseller list with it.

Oliver’s book at the top of the list.

Oliver debuted the book on Sunday, hours before Pence’s hit shelves. In Oliver’s version, Bundo is a gay bunny who falls in love with a boy rabbit—a tiny jab at Pence’s anti-LGBTQ beliefs. A Pence-like stinkbug also appears in the book. He’s the story’s antagonist, coincidentally.

At this point, the original print run of the book has sold out, but more are coming so you can still order it, Oliver told Ellen DeGeneres earlier this week. (And an audiobook is still available, read by Jim Parsons and featuring guests Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jeff Garlin, Ellie Kemper, John Lithgow, Jack McBrayer, and RuPaul.) All proceeds go the Trevor Project and/or AIDS United. Find out more about the book at its website, betterbundobook.com, a domain Oliver purposely chose.

Oliver also devoted six minutes of his show to make a great sales pitch about the book.

Marlon Bundo the bunny approves of all of this, apparently. Pence’s family posted an Instagram from Marlon Bundo’s account praising the book. (A good PR opportunity is a good PR opportunity.)

@lastweektonight@iamjohnoliver Not gonna lie, I do look pretty fly in a bow tie. The only thing better than one bunny book for charity is…TWO bunny books for charity. #BOTUS – Marlon,” his Insta caption read. No word yet on whether the book has caused any of the Pence family to rethink their stance on LGBTQ rights, but, much like Marlon himself, it did just come out.
