Yesterday Zayn Malik spent his 25th birthday with girlfriend Gigi Hadid, and the pair stepped out in New York to celebrate. But the couple’s attire made it clear that this wasn’t any ordinary birthday.

Dressed head to toe in black, and wearing sunglasses at nighttime, Hadid and Malik cosplayed as Neo and Trinity in The Matrix:

With super long coats, chunky black boots, and the perfect combination of PVC and leather, Hadid and Malik proved that they can literally pull off any look. Hadid’s snakeskin pants perfected her outfit, as did her croc embossed Tod’s bag. Meanwhile, Malik hid behind his futuristic, white-rimmed shades.

Hadid also posted some extremely sweet photos of her with Malik, along with the heart-melting message, “love this man more than I could ever put into words, & am inspired by his drive to be and do better everyday ✨ cheers to YOUR YEAR my @zayn—happiest happiest birthday & 25th year of life !! I’m proud to be by your side x”:

Hadid and Malik have been dating since 2015. For Halloween 2017, the pair dressed up as Spider-Man and the Black Cat, who just happens to be one of Spider-Man’s girlfriends. Their flawless costumes stunned their Instagram followers at the time, and these Matrix-inspired outfits look set to do the same.
