When it comes to false lashes, I’m not a snob. I love a $5 set from Ardell as much as I do a $37 one from Artémes. While I’m devoted to drugstore strips in a pinch, expensive lashes tend to have finer, mink-like fibers that add drama while looking convincingly real. That being said, I am never one to turn down an opportunity to save a buck. So, when I came across an Internet hack that makes cheap, stiff falsies look more high-end, I was totally on board.

It all started with a viral tweet from the account @beautybybitch, who shared a Facebook video from a makeup artist named Paloma Garcia. The video showed Paloma demonstrating how she uses a clean spoolie brush to comb through a set of synthetic lashes. The end result is a strip that looks wispy and more flattering.
